i am planning to hook up a car silencer to my hybrid when i saw how loud DYI's hybrid was at 3x and i will have a much larger chamber and 10x
do you think it could work?

I would expect hardly any noticable sound reduction if any at all.
You will need hearing protection no matter what you do to try to silence it.

if you are talking about the muffler then it will not work unless you get an aftermarket performance one
stock mufflers just make the gas turn heaps of corners before it is passed out the tip...this wont work for a projectile.
the performance mufflers, usually called a straight cut high flow or something around those lines, may work but i dought its worth it when you can make your own.

huh..... a 55 gallon drum for a silencer... hahaha you are going to need a lot of insulation for that gun, and a LOT OF A LOT of holes... good luck.

I personally like the idea you had with the 55 gallon drum. It would be relatively easy to make, and it is probably large enough to make the gun a little quieter, but you may need more than one drum.
It's hard to soar with eagles when you're working with turkeys.
