LOL... Actually, we do. But the keys are built into our facility and since they aren't required to be turned simultaneously... Well, one person could do it. :)

I've been gone a while, and just stuck my head in on a whim. As a fellow Firefly fan, I have to say good choice on the name!

On the old Spudtech forum there was an entire thread wherein I kept a running commentary as I went through the initial design process. Mind you, at that point it was all just talk. There was little if any expectation that anything would ever come of it. Still, it was fun to sit around and BS concepts with ya'll.

Point being: There are archives around here somewhere, I believe. You might try there. The words to look for are "Pipe Dream."

Then one day I got funding to actually build it. Since then, much has changed. After all, I had to really worry about whether or not the gun would work in practice, not just in theory. All the little details like "can I even reach that bolt?" needed to be answered. Blah blah blah.

Suffice to say that the basic gun design still looks like the pic on page one of this thread. Well, more or less. Again, there've been changes, but they're fine points to the design not gross concept mods.

Beyond that... The design goal was/is a 100 lbs projectile to 1000 fps.

Yes, it's a breech loader. It's basically a giant break action shotgun.

Chambers are 30" in diameter.

Why is it funny that it's a breech loader? When something gets that large, muzzle loading isn't very practical. It almost HAS to be a breech loader.

And cubic inches? LOL... Put it this way, I'm in excess of 275 cubic FEET.
