That was a smart move, one whould think that such a wall thickness would stand up to a 5x. Earlier almost every hybrid where PVC and had "large" diameter chambers.SpudBlaster15 wrote:I have added 7.5" of ABS couplers to the breech area of the barrel, which means the first 10" of the barrel pipe is now sleeved with (at least) an additional wall thickness. This should reduce the possibility of it failing in the area where the pressure is highest.
This barrel is over 3 years old (Taken from my advanced combustion launcher), and has seen hundreds of shots, so I'm not sure how many more pressure cycles it will be able to withstand. Hopefully the sleeving proves sufficient to keep it together.
You have to promise that you don't fire anything off camera when you are ready.

That will do fine, but I do strongly recomend the EX-F1. Might not have the best quality pictures and videos but it sure compensate with all it's other qualities.SpudBlaster15 wrote:I just obtained a new tripod for my camera, so I'll be sure to film as many shots as possible.SpudFarm wrote:You have to promise that you don't fire anything off camera when you are ready.
Unfortunately, it doesn't shoot HD video, but the sound capture is better than any other camera I've used. Here's a demonstration my friend SWIM filmed last summer when I lent him the camera.
I was looking at the video and thought he would shoot the computer or something so I almost fell of my chair

Edit: is there any way you could measure the velocity of that battery?

I'm planning to buy one as soon as I can afford it. Being able to shoot high speed video will be fantastic.

Yeah, it's a bit misleading isn't it?![]()

I'll talk to a friend and see if he still owns a shooting chrony. HGDT estimates ~550fps at a 5x mix, which would give the round roughly 1600ft-lbs of kinetic energy. Anyone know off hand what the highest muzzle energy achieved by a handheld 1.5" bore cannon is?
You can consider the EX-FH20 it is a tiny bit slower but takes better pictures. It is almost half the price of the F1 in Norway.
What battery is it? I want to shoot the same projectile at the same pressure to find out if it accelerates much after the first few feet in the barrel.
1600 ft-lbs from a barrel that short will probably hurt a bit

Good job.
The beauty of hybrids is their ability to throw heavy things very fast.
You should make a APFSDS round and try to penetrate some steel. A 1/4" steel plate with a hole from a handheld cannon would be cool. Try to use a thick penetrator though
