hi my question is how much x i can go with 1 1/4 brass? it was ratet to ~240psi water pressure. is it safe go up to 5x. it is for a riflr like gun. it will be the chamber and next to my head.

Few ideas, go to the hddt thread and input important info and see if it will over do the rating or fill one with air until it explodes and check the psi. Yay I feel useful

sorry dartguy but pressure tests arent usefull i think and i like it as a closed chamber wwhen it comes to safety so hggdt isnt need. dartguy it seems you have to learn a lot more before answer safety questions...

Some manufacturers are higher quality than others, and they differ in design and thus strength. Steel fittings are more popular in hybrids and are available in that size, why not use steel?

hi gun freak the t joint was a german fitting. it means it was dvgw rated with a safety factor of 4. i forget to ask how much x are the highest you like to go with this. steel is an option but for an musket like rifle it would be cool it is in brass. and may it is an option to go with copper like this below.

Brass is a better idea than copper.
The old rule of thumb with hybrids is 100 psi per x number, so you can estimate 500 psi in your case. A safety factor of 4 would mean that it would be reasonable to use the fitting you showed, though I would do some detailed modelling in HGDT to get a more realistic estimate.
What caliber do you you have in mind for your musket? If you go for something like 0.5" - 0.75", I can tell you that 5-10x will be insanely loud and all you will need in terms of power.

Like pneumatics, it's the smaller calibers that need the extra boost for impressive penetration.

hi jack i like to go for 20mm/1m for decent power. i know the 100psi rule but i am scare because it is just next to my head... tomorrow i am back at home and show the concept. its based on the .54 pistol i made but just hybrid. the copper t is rated to ~380psi for gas/water. the joints will be soldered.

ok sorry for double post. here is the concept. i belive you understanding it. because of the 1 1/4 pump tube i think i cant go higher than 5x. jean
edit forgot to say the o-ring near the check valve is floating and works like a pump head.
