This is my hybrid, the chamber is a stick of 3"x24" sch. 80 pipe and the barrel (not shown) is 102" of 1.5" sdr 21 (golf ball barrel) sleeved inside a piece of 2" sch. 80 pipe for support. Usually in hybrids you see a union at the start of the barrel for the burst disk; not this one, this uses 2" cam-lever couplings. These fittings are a lot like a union except there are no threads involved, you simply put the disk in, slide the male fitting (on the barrel) inside and pull down the levers. Another thing you see quite often is the meter pipe tapped into the female adapter of the chamber. This one is screwed into the plug at the end. I did this so I wouldnt have to drill any large holes into the PVC pipe/fittings so they would remain strong. The plug is a 3" solid black forged steel plug. Its heavy.
This is only phase one. Phase two is the turret. The turret has an elevation system, recoil system, on-board air tank/compressor, and other accesories. It is nearly complete I just need to add a few things. It should be done sometime this summer when I have more time and money..
Chrony results will also come in the near future, its too cold right now, but when summer rolls around, Ill have some results as to how fast this thing shoots.
For more pictures go here: http://hybridpictures.mypicgallery.com these pictures are somewhat onld, I have since polished the fittings more and got a new propane tank with the label attached which for some reason makes the whole gun look cooler, lol.
Questions? Comments? Complaints? wanna send me some spam or spyware? (not really) aerozep@adelphia.net is my email address, feel free to contact me.
