well you could have used a different design... if you've got a solenoid valve you can add a relay that switches the circuit on/off in a sequence

by simply turning the knob on the relay you could adjust the ROF

I could have done that but the valve system is easier and simpler. In my eyes its one less thing that can break. I hope to update later tonight with the complete air system. I may have the electrics set up this weekend if I can find an battery powered drill to gut.

In fact it is more straightforward... the gun fires at exactly the rate you choose - the only limiting factor is the opening speed of the solenoid valve and the max rate at which the relay can send on and then off signal to it

Since you already have a solenoid valve then you need batteries and a switch too. You wouldn't need two ball valves and a T. Ohh and you could just use an airsoft mag

It's a pity you bought a directly actuated solenoid valve for it - an indirectly actuated one would be a lot more suitable for the design I mentioned

I got the basic module finished today, I need to go back to the supply store to get some different fittings to shrink it down, but it works, I only put 25psi through it because I dont have the barrel or hopup rubber installed but it was a successful test.

I had a problem with the bb feed hose coming off the bottom of the hopup so I threaded it with a 1/8 27 tap and it has not come loose yet.

I had a bit of a redesign with my ammo feed. I decided not to do the cloud feed system because I feel like it would have used a large amount of gas, instead I revised my original tube feed system by fitting a t onto it so that I can use a cap to refill the feed tube. The reason that the t is 1/8th inch is because that is almost 6mm I.D. so a bb fits inside perfectly. The other reason is that the 1/8th inch nipple allows the flexible hose to fit over the top and be secured by the hose clamp. I also re routed the air feed at the rear of the hopup to so I could shrink the mechanism in the gun down in size.

I installed the hopup rubber today on the mechanism and had to cut the rear off of it because it was causing jams. I got it fixed and tested thought and holy crap its insane. I need to get some better bbs thought because the .12 grams I bought to test it with were shattering in the hopup.

Shattering in the hop-up

Did you fit it at the breech or at the muzzle?

Its at the breech, I figured out why they were shattering though. I didn't have the gas system working properly so I was sending the bbs up the feed tube into the metal of the hopup with no air feed from the rear to push them into and out of the barrel. When it was pressurized 125psi of air shot the bbs up the feed tube in the same way that they would be shot out the barrel and they shattered when they hit the metal of the hopup.

I also counted out the number of bbs in the feed hose and I am not happy with how little it holds (375 rounds) so I will be working on an electric gas hybrid feed system using a hicap magazine in a pressurized cylinder to feed the ammo into the tube. and then the air pressure pushes it into the hopup.

I am excited about this though, its coming together and getting to be a load of fun to test!
