Jack, all my 1/4" fittings are almost exactly 8mm ID. Give or take a few .1mm's and it would be exact.

Doctor, just to clear things up a bit, since the thread is kind of hard for me to understand, do you want a quick exhaust valve rifle, or a hammer valve rifle?

It's only 1/4". Is that even going to work? I would think it's going to bottleneck.

Most fittings have bigger internal diameters than the nominal one, all the 1/4" fittings I have are at least 8mm ID.

On the other hand, going to a 1/2" valve will give better performance, the barrel will choke the flow but air will be fed at a faster rate than the 1/4" valve.

if you want it to have a better, and faster rate of power, then use a 3-way valve for the pilot

Evan, all you have to do is buy a hose clamp, and put it around the slide valve. May not be very comfortable at first, but after some jb weld or bondo, it will feel pretty good.

An "L" bracket hose clamped to a slide valve? "L" brackets are for book shelves. I think warhead has the better idea. The JB Weld could be shaped.

If you're using a QEV, a three way valve for the pilot is all you need to cycle the valve repeatedly. If you've seen jack's thread you'd see how easy that part is.

However, nobody's really stopped to talk to you about loading. Are you going to build a blow-forward bolt for semi-automatic operation, or do something like poland_spud's Mk. III with a single acting pneumatic cylinder?

I want a bolt action rifle, capable of shooting more than one shot preferably. Just to make things a bit easier considering this is only my second build.

Warhead, I' wasn't arguing, I was telling you another way to make a trigger, and I was telling you my personal opinion on the "trigger issue."

AND just as JSR stated earlier, HE CAN'T EVEN USE THE SLIDE VALVE BECAUSE OF TH BSP THREADS.

You'll find that in practice that L bracket will slip out quite easily. Some adhesive would be necessary.

Meh, an L bracket just isn't comfortable. I wouldn't like it very much at all. I would prefer a bondo or jb weld trigger over that.
