Ant, i feel the need to tell you that you are a genius.

i constructed a .177 cal version of this gun, and i have to be honest it works better than i could ever imagine. only thing i could ask for more would be a 100% seal on the return piston, but whatever you cant have everything :-D

when im finished ill post. i managed to decrease the overall size of the mechanism/launcher by spacing the tubes closer together.

and Ant, i found that modified schrader valves work extremely well as hammer valves. my gun uses two.

anyway, you are a genius. thats all i have to say. and thank you for sharing your amazing ideas. i now have an automatic BB gun (well, it doesnt shoot yet but it cycles BEAUTIFULY)

Ah GREAT. Nice to hear you are making good use of my ideas and posts up here. I would really like to see your schrader mod as it sounds easier then my setup. From what pressure range does your gun cycle? Again thnx for the respect am I a looking forward to seeing your work:) When u got a post> just post a link here, i dont mind as its cool to seeing ppl make good use of the effort and time I put into my posts.

I just went to the shop to buy 12mm OD copper pipe and 10 MM OD alu pipe. I tested is they would fit in eachotter but they didn't did you had that problem too?

Nope. I got my pipes from the praxis. But this combo should fit. Try to clean the copper pipe after you cut it of. If you have used a pipcutter(rollerblade one) then the ends become smaller in diameter. So use a normal metal saw instead. Hope this helps.

I now see some advantage to the 2 tubes instead of one, its more easy to make manual cocking system, and to make a trigger system because a single tube rotates so a simple pin may not match the socket

I'm currently trying to do a automatic blowforward prototype, could you please tell me some things about your systems, first what's the general diameter of the valve's sealing area and diameter of the rod? second what's the relative force of the bolt's spring tension? a very general weight or even common object with similar force in weight will due

Ant:

the schrader valve mod is easy. just chop off about .25 inches of the the threaded portion (the part the pump usually attaches to) and vwala! lol.

they dont have the greatest flow, but for bb launchers they are PERFECT

my gun cycles at 60 PSI and above. Im in the process of ordering some o-rings that should make the bottom tube seal 100%, wich would allow the gun to cycle at even lower pressures (and be able to re-cock a MUCH harder spring, resulting in higher FPS)

ill post my gun when the epoxy finishes drying and i finally get a proper chamber to run it off of.

wow I like your guns.. really you make something different than others... are you going to up the pressure or it is difficult to do with hammer valves? (I admitt I know very little about them )

Thnx. Yeah hammer valves are different. But yeah dont underestimate pistons:) My target for airguns was to make some for my friends, so it was based on reproducability. I have had some problem where the sealing alupipes fly out. This was bc I unscrewed the screw at the side while there was pressure on the system>really stupid of me. So yeah for higher pressure I will need think of a more robust valve, or think of some better way of keeping that pipe in place.
I was going to get your fridge pump working. I might buy a tippmann paintball gun to do some test on the blowback system. The stock tippmanns work on highpressure, so they dont have a regulator (opperates from 3000-300psi) so it should work.

I'm liking this design more and more, its just like having 2 of your old bolt action hammer valve guns, one clogged to power the loading, and one to shoot bbs, and that design has gained fame here for simplicity and ghettoness

and so I making a ghetto version of this with most materials from scrap and junk
