Just an idea, what if you put a bolt behind the spring (left side on the diagram) so you can thread it in and out to adjust the spring pressure? Just a thought.

Put it on hold for now, a bit fiddly in the dimensions I chose. Started on something else in the meantime, trying to see if the Monsoon loader will work at lower pressures, watch this space

I started on this but realised that my smallest o-ring for the blocket piston wouldn't fit, so I have to remake it with the barrel mounted off-centre.

As for the design I showed here yesterday, it is really from a nerf gun. I took it off some time ago, and hooked it to a blow gun with very small air reservoir at 300 psi. I made a small video of the operation :

As I think I had pointed out in an earlier thread, it's similar to what I did here.
I recently made another prototype based on the above, with the benefit of the lathe, but no real luck, it either cycled extremely fast or not at all, though by restricting the outlet with my finger it was popping away quite happily
The problem of projectile feeding remains though, you still have to hook this up to some sort of reloading breech.

Well it sort of works... testing at 850 psi:

I have a feeling cloud feeding is never going to be reliable enough...

JSR I was thinking the same thing about cloud feeding...
what if you used an inline vortex block and had a bolt portrude into the barrel partly, and used some sort of linkage to link it to that spring piston? That way you eliminate the cloud feeding..
I feel like the linkage could be somewhat difficult to implement however..

It might be worth just replicating the airsoft "bullet valve" upping it to HPA:

Did better than I expected... The fact that it's a cloud makes it automatically unreliable.

I would be a shame to let go of the detent though.
Hmmm... gas operation?

I mean I guess... except thats basically a blowback design, and I dunno how practically feasible it would be round 800 psi unless that forward piston is HUGE,
plus, still doesn't solve the problem of cloud feeding

That just complicates a design you've already proven unreliable.

I think the "gas blowback" idea has potential though. It needs 1500 psi to work, but then again it needs to recock a substantial hammer magazine as well as cycling the bolt.
Just to cycle a barrel sleeve, it really doesn't need so much force.I dunno how practically feasible it would be round 800 psi unless that forward piston is HUGE
Say a 4mm OD barrel and a 10mm piston, just 10 psi gives you a full pound pushing on the piston, albeit for a brief moment.
Combined with a pop-off perhaps...
