Air pulsor piston question

I am makeing a airsoft gun that will be a repeater. I am wondering if it would be better to use a double piston like what leonard did or to use a regular elongated piston. I am guessing that the equall area on the inside of the double piston would sort of cancel each other out and not do anything and act the same as a regular piston.

i see no advantage over either. i have never built a "double" piston, so i am going to recommend that you build one that is solid, like the first one.

you should get faster opening times from the double as there will be more surfsce area for the air to push back on, however i'm not sure if there will be any sealing problems because of the surface area... but this antenna launcher seems to work ok

There would zero benefit from extra surface area because of the extra surface area in the other direction.
So no increase in opening times from that.
However it would give you a lighter piston and that could help a little.

Well Ali I was thinking that the double piston wouldn't have any advantages over a regular piston because there is always equal pressure on both middle sides that would cancel each other out so the olny surfaces that would do anything would be the two outer surfaces.
