Update: this valve can be seen in action here, win!

I present version 2.0 of my original pop-off auto valve, very happy with the result so far, take a look why :D

psycix eat your heart out :P :D

It doesn't really come across in the video but the sound is a lot sharper than version 1, I'm guessing that since the piston isn't airtight there isn't as much friction and it opens significantly faster. Here's the internals:

Note that the varying rate of fire is because I'm applying different pressure to the blowgun it's attached to.

Methinks I have some single shot testing to do, I'll keep you posted :)

I hooked it up to my pump, it was only popping at 60 psi, so added another spacer to the spring and it's popping at 80, even louder :D bit of a small leak though, so testing postponed for now, but yay! win! :D

Hey, the original worked nicely, before it broke and I couldn't fix it 'cause it was sealed up and all. No such problems now ;) small chambered wanker :D

I'd love to. But your fullauto gun doesn't fire through a 16mm porting does it? :D
And on top of that, this was my FIRST try at fullauto... I have to agree to carl, it did take you a lot of time...
Maybe you should also take a bite out of your own eh? :P

Besides that, I'd like to say the following, without sarcasm (seriously):
Its nice! I like it a lot!
What are your next plans? Ammo loading mechanism or perfecting this?

Ah, but you just bought parts and clobbered them together, any fool could do that. I made mine out of toothpicks and chewing gum :D
Its nice! I like it a lot!
Thanks, honestly :)

Hook it up to my pump for single shots with anything from 3mm to 6mm barrels, see what performs best and then move on to a reloading mechanism to be used with it.
Wow..Nice rattlesnake!

I think this project just got a new name, nice one :D

Was the pneumatic spring changed to simply a mechanical spring, or is there some weird hybrid mix going on in there? I just want to clarify.

There is a limited pneumatic buffering because the tube where the piston travels is sealed, but it's not airtight so it's mostly the coil spring that does the work.

Jack, I've an idea for a blowback bolt for a pellet gun, as i know you're always aiming to use pellets. Hope it makes sense. I've left the spring out behind the bolt but otherwise it's all there.

I had been considering a similar system for the first version, I'll see what calibre suits this one most in a few hours and move from there.

I will make that system as bolt action

@Sniper Hero,

Yes, that is a possibility, but just because it hits the pin does not mean gravity stops working, and that they wont fall in the absence of the pin :D
