recently my crossman 1377 has been a p.i.t.a. its accurate one shot than the next one its a half a mile off. im using a red dot sight with crosman mounts. also the gun has power issues meaning its good once than the next shot i get a pellet wizzing by my ear. any ideas are greatly appreciated.

try taking the red dot sight off if there are irons on it. Cheap red dots are more for looks than anything. a good quality red dot is going to be very expensive.

try different ammo too and see if that helps.

is a $40 bsa red dot cheap. tried different pellets. even set the gun a some pillows for a steady shot still no differance.

Have you oiled the seal? That might exsplain the power problems???

With the gun pumped up, loaded and the breach covered with a kleenex, fire in a safe direction. Does the kleenex get blown around?

I've seen a 2289 barrel band shift around while pumping, causing large shifts in poi.

Does it pump up "normally"? Can you hear hissing with the gun pumped up and the breach open?

How about a list of any mods done.

Silicon oil works well with o rings.

Use SAE 30 non detergent (Usually 4 stroke lawn mower oil) or crosman pelgun oil.

Now do I just put a drop in the pump?

If you look closely with the pump open it will have a little arrow saying oil here, 3 drops on the felt peice. Look in the owners manual or online at crossmans website.

Accuracy issue sounds like a filthy barrel to me. I actually have one of those things lying around in my closet from who knows when. Clean the barrel and check the acurracy again. Use Iron sights or even no sights since that red dot might be loose. Barrel dirt might affect power as well, not too sure though. Not just dirt actually, it could be hardened grime that needs a good degreasing and cleaning.

I think it's more likely to be a power issue, ideally you get a chronograph and see how consistent it is. If it isn't, then your pump is either not taking it to the same pressure every time, there's a leak in the chamber or you have a stick valve/hammer setup.

Where can I get silicone oil at?

Auto parts store. I've used cooking oil before and it worked well.

Cooking oil turns rancid. Avoid it. It becomes acidic and corrosive over time exposed to air.
