Thought I would whip up a thread on my latest build attempt which I have mentioned in a couple of other threads.
This build uses the sodastream bottle I picked up for a steal, along with a regulator and various fittings to hopefully result in a reliable gun with a half decent amount of shots to it before refills.
Yes I could probably exchange the sodastream bottle at Coles for $11 and gets lots and lots of shots from a bottle, but I'm cheap. So it will be filled with HPA from my fridgy.
The picture below explains how the filling will happen for the the most.. basically when filling, the output of the reg acts as an input. Once full, reg is adjusted to 0 output, air is bled from a ball valve on a Tee joint at the compressor, then the gun is disconnected from the fill station.

BIG thanks to the fella at IFS in Brisbane who helped me out today. He spent about 45 minutes with me going through what I needed and sorting it all out with me. He even re-machined a nipple to the right thread for me so it would work. And he gave me tradey prices Fantastic customer service even though I wasnt a big company like they usually deal with.

I was looking at those cheapy regs on ebay( just like yours) but never bothered buying one because I thought the threads were different.

I mean the threads on my 20 oz co2 paintball tank were not the same as the stated thread size of those cheap regs?.

the ebay auction says the female thread coupling thingee on those regs as 22mm thread,I measured my Paintball female ASA adaptor and I got 20mm( but using a tape measure so might be my inaccurate measuring.

All I really need to find out is= if the thread on those Soda Stream Bottles is the same as paintball tank threads but I cant find that info anywhere!?...

Well if there is anyone in Brissy with a paintball tank/regulator Id be happy to compare it with them and set the record straight with these threads.. for my setup I'm using an adaptor between the tank and the reg which was introduced by home brewers I think.. dont know the thread size or anything though, I'v just seen it used between that exact reg and a sodastream.. still waiting for it to come in the mail though

Do you have a link for where you got that Reg?,was it located in Australia or through Ebay/shipped from china?
