Haven't posted here in a looooooooooong time. Just wondering if anyone has ever boughten a Break-barrel pellet gun and put a .22 smooth bore barrel in it so you could put a "shell" in it so you could shoot "shot"? Does anyone think it will work? Any suggestions on a gun to use? where would i buy the barrel? Suggestions on what # shot i should use? Or should i use .177 copper bb's?

Do some google research on the gamo viper express....it's what you describe..factory built.

Been there done that. All i've heard about that gun was that the seals were complete Sh*t. The action of breaking the barrel down would fatigue the seals until they tor apart. Not to mention the fact that they are discontinued. :(

Never suggested that gamo builds anything but hyped up shite...suggested you look at it to see how to do it.

At least...that was the intent. :)

Best guess?...Even with smal shot (#9 or smaller) and small shot loads, you're asking a powerplant to push FAR more mass than it was ever designed to. I have my doubts that you'd be happy with the resulting velocity.

I've fired "shotgun" rounds through the rifled barrels of my springers, basically a balsa dowel sabot and lead shot wrapped in tissue, works pretty well though power isn't spectacular unless you're dealing with wasps

Cool, any signs of wear on the rifling?

No, because I only used lead shot, I would strongly advise against using "copper" BBs.
