Iv'e decided against an inline vortex gun, instead I'd like to make a Vortex Cap BBMG. Just one question, Can I run it with co2? Some of the guys on ASF"AirsoftForum" said that it could freeze up my internals, but I'd much rather have co2 than air since I could have more firing time without more weight.

Valid concerns but for example irisher didn't have any problems with his vortex cap uzi running on CO<sub>2</sub>.

Simple and effective solution is to have an expansion chamber after the co2 is regulated. This will prevent any damage that could potentially come from the coldness of the co2. If you want to, you can make the vortex cap out of metal as well so you dont have to worry about the co2 causing the pvc to become brittle. Though if you put in an expansion chamber this should minify the effect as well.

I have held a Co2 bottle upside down to get liquid Co2 into the internals and it still worked fine. I think this may have to do with the fact that; in order to get large amounts of liquid Co2 into the system you have to have high pressure and this pressure is resisting any stoppage that may occur. To confirm this, I tried a similar experiment but with liquid propane introduced to the system and this system jammed after short use. Also be sure to have a gun that can take the pressure because Co2 can get to 900+ psi

Thanks guys! I plan to make the whole thing out of aluminum, stainless, and brass. Also, everything will be bolted, and then glued with lock-tight. 900psi, that's great, I could've gotten up to 3,000psi on air, but that's just overkill for a bbmg and would expel all of my air way too fast. Thanks for the help, I'll post some pics when I get it done!
