Equipment for a project gun

Halla, I'm a new member, and I've been trying to build a quality airsoft gun as of late Not because I'm so broke that I can't afford a good one, but that I think it would be a great project. I already have some basic stuff, and firing ideas based on air and not electricity. I understand that it won't be the tie-a-rubber-band-to-a-bic-pen-and-call-it-good, I know it can be a difficult project that will take alot of time. And I understand that you guys won't just dish out the information on a silver plate; especially to a noob like me.

So the first one is not original, you've seen it all over youtube. You take a small container, drill two holes, and attach straws. I've seen a couple more elevated ones, including this spectacular demonstration.

The only problem is that I think it will use the whole 16 gram co2 cartridge. Could someone give pointers, tips, hints, on how to make my prototypes better? Any equipment to use? Bike pumps, compressors.

That will easily use the whole cartridge in seconds. Also if their were to be a jam, the pill bottle would explode. I would suggest, if you want to use the cartridges, a valveless launcher. Check out some of JSRs guns. We will be happy to help you, we just tend not to like to spoon feed, or give exact instructions. IMO, their are better solutions than those cartridges.

Okay, thanks. Rendering GreekGuru's gun out of my book, that narrows things down. The only thing against me is that I'm REALLY good at making things fit, but REALLY bad at giving things good seals and stuff.

Practice makes perfect. Those r basic skills that any spudder should work on eventually. You gotta learn plumbing. Trial and error is my best teacher. I say u should make a valveless design.

Agree, valveless is a GREAT concept, I have made a semi auto pistol with it :) http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/my-new- ... 22618.html
