Hello everybody, this is my first BBMG. For this project i decided to go with a cap vortex design since it allowed me to use 3/4 in PVC, which fits in the body of the XM8. This design uses a 13 in PVC tube with an elbow and a cap. the trigger is just a simple blowgun trigger with a 1/4 in brass tube going out of the gun. The brass tube has a 1/4 in quick connect fitting. The other side of the blowgun goes to the cap vortex via a 1/8 in plastic tube which is connected to two 1/8 in brass fittings. The 6mm bb's are pushed into the cap vortex by a plunger. The barrel is 365mm long and about 6.1mm in diameter. Overall this gun performs well; 350 - 400 fps with .12g bb's at 50 - 75 rps. The gun is also very solid and strong. There is a link under this that will take you to a video of the gun shooting and I have also posted many pictures that show how i build this gun. Ah ok. Hobby tron does have alot of cheap stuff that works for what we need right?

Yes, surprisingly the XM8 body is very durable.

How strong is it on a scale of 1 to 10?
Edit, Can you add some close up pictures of your set up? I would like to see the vortex assembly inside half of the body unless I missed the picture...

I grinned out the body to specifically fit the 3/4 in pvc tube

The gun is about an 8 or 9.

Nice work in doing that good job in getting it robust! I know how difficult it is to get a shell to fit something inside it perfectly, once I tried fitting a blowgun into a cheap pistol shell- 3 pistols later it still rattled.

Ok. Well it looks pretty good. Good job, I wish I had something like that.
Now heres a little task for you, try and make a regulator compressed air tank, small enough to carry in a back pack or strapped to your leg. co2 does not count.

First of all thank you for the kind comment. Second I already have a design for a portable HPA setup. First, you would use a simple 3000/4500 psi 1-2 lbs tank. Second, you would hook up a Palmers Pursuit stabilizer to the HPA tank, which would then hook up to the quick release fitting on the blowgun. This set up would allow for thousands of bb's to be fired on one fill and give you the ability to regulate to airflow from as low as 60 psi to as much as 600 psi. This set up, however, would be expensive, running you around $170 usd.

Where as you can get a empty 20oz co2 bottle, find a way to use a fridge compressor to fill it up to about 750 - 900 psi, and then attach a regulator to it and done.
