Vortex BBMG Help

Hello All,
This is my first post on spudfiles, so please bear with me.
I am planning on building a vortex BBMG, and need a few suggestions from all of you more seasoned builders. My problem that I am experiencing in the design of my gun is simply the air supply. I originally thought to make a backpack reservoir from 4-inch pressure rated PVC, but decided that it would not be able to hold the amount of air that I need, nor be able to supply the power which I desire. Air compressors are out of the question, because it will be used for outdoor woodland skirmishing, so I was wondering if CO2 would work. If so, how large of a tank would I need for it to be practical? Also, I would like to inquire about the vortex block itself- which are better: full or semi-circle vortex blocks? Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
OfTheLion
P.S. (I think I forgot to mention that this is for airsoft.)

In addition to my above post, I would like to know, if possible, how to connect the CO2 cylinder to the gun. Is it like using air compressor hose? If so, then I'm in good shape.

In answer to your co2 question, a kobalt co2 regulator, available at lowes. Answer for your question about the circle, I would say full, but I would make it inside of a cap so that I could put it inside of an airsoft gun body.
Oh and one other thing, don't double post, most of us don't like it.

Full circles are better.
You need a reg. Warhead mentioned the kobalt- but iirc it s low pressure like less than 100 psi. For the same (hefty) price you could get a Palmer stabilizer and (again) iirc, they can regulate much higher. Get as large a co2 tank you can; you wont have to refill it as often.

Thanks for the advice. It's always nice to get a friendly reception from a community when you join.
Now, in regards to a Kobalt CO2 system, how long would that give me of continuous firing? Sorry for the questioning, as I said, I'm a n00b.
Oh, and referring to the vortex cap method, I think I'm going to do an inline vortex, because I'm making a type of m2 flamethrower-looking thing. :violent3: (unless a vortex cap would better fit my needs?)

I saw in a thread around 2,000 shots. Not sure if its accurate or not, but I know its probably more than enough. I only had to fire my vortex cap for 1 second to make everyone surrender after they realized the rate of fire and how long I could hold my position for (I was next to the ammo and compressor so I pretty much just tethered my self and said screw it, they won't get far...)

Haha nice. Gotta love camping with big guns.
Again, thanks for the suggestion.

Yeah. Any time. You seem like you will produce something nice, so I figured I would help out. Shoot me a pm if you need any help on it.

Thanks. It will probably be a LOT better than my single-shot dual mega cannons, which despite being not practical at all, do have very nice range and look very good. (originally intended to be marshmallow launchers XD). I'll probably post pics of those, and build pics of this, so stay posted.

Most of the reviews I've read about this were pretty bad, I would be more likely to invest in a paintball CO2 setup.
Also, if this is for airsoft, remember that the terrific rate of fire of BBMGs makes the extremely dangerous especially at close range, even if individual projectile energy might be low. Beware the
"jackhammer effect".

Thanks, I think I might have to look into a larger CO2 cylinder. As for close quarters, there won't be too much of that (yet). One of my purposes for building this was for whiny n00b control...
