I just joined today, i really admire this forum because of it's members, quite the elite when it comes to stuff like this.
It's my first build, i really can use and appreciate all the help i can get.
All i know is this:
I will be buying a 3000 psi paintball air tank with a regulator
a 200-is psi QEV (can't find any QEV that can hold more)
will be using the old barrel from my springer
blowgun as trigger
Well what am i missing out? i heard you need a pilot, and i really want my shots to be powerful, i'm not building it as an airsoft gun, it will be shooting steel pellets or BB's.Please tell me all the parts or missing stuff that i need..
Any help appreciated!!
And thanks for reading all this!!
PS: I came out with this design (4 stands for the QEV)

Welcome aboard
It seems you have misunderstood the concept of a semi auto quick exhaust valve setup though, the blowgun isn't the right valve, what you want is a three way valve.
You don't need to regulate the paintball tank, just use 800 psi directly. The effects are most satisfying

Here's one made from standard parts:

Well i thought of that too but i read somewhere that the tank will empty out in 2 seconds..
if it doesn't it's a great idea..and i'll make mine just like yours
Ow and one more thing, you think i can fit in a .177 barrel instead of the one you picked? so i can shoot smaller .177 BB's, I don't wanna blow up the neighborhood :p

Not really, with such high pressure you won't need massive flow for some decent destruction.

I'll try and see if i can ask a blacksmith or a weapon smith to thread my .177 Barrel then i can attach it directly to the paintball tank and handle and i'll find me a ball detent from somewhere ..Did i get your idea or am i missing something :p if so feel free to correct me

You think your idea will work on a .177 barrel and .177 steel BB's?

no point in using a rifled barrel with steel BBs, you're better off with a smooth bore.

Yeah you got a point,
And one more thing, how many shots you think you can pull off with a single charge?

Lots! If you make a cloud/vortex style BB chamber, chances are you're get a rate of fire of 100 plus BBs per second.

ohh
I meant with a single charge of the tank
Like 300 shots more or less before i have to recharge it? and i can do burst shots like pull the trigger then release then pull/release[etc...] right? or will it just shoot out all the BB's with one trigger pull?
Again thanks for your support it means allot to me

I would guesstimate at least 500-1000 rounds before the air runs out.

Yes of course.

one final thing and i'll stop bothering you
You think there is a simple way to reduce the ROF to about 10BBs/sec? or somewhere close to that
thanks!
