Hey y'all
I was wondering i you guys could help me. I've been wondering what you guys typically use as an air source to power your BBMG's?
I've been looking into using paintball tanks, but there doesn't seem to be any easy/cheap way to regulate the pressure down to a safe pressure like 100 psi

1. Edit your post rather than double-posting
2. Screw the tank adapter onto the tank, then attach a 1/8" NPT male-male fitting between it and the regulator intake. Attach a 1/8" NPT male-* to the regulator output. The star can be male or female depending on your setup, I can't help you more without more details of your situation.

My only concern is if that regulator is strong enough to handle that kind of pressure, have you actually used that setup?

I'm not sure why I thought it was safe before as I try to be as cautious as possible
Maybe I'll go back into hiding and stop trying to give people advice
I will say,however, that safe or not I've used it with a pball tank with no problems.

Ouch, 80 bucks for a regulator seems like a bit much.
It seems like there's a "Pro SLP" version of the ninja paintball tanks that can go down to 275 psi. Think I could use that tank and then hook it up to this regulator: http://www.amazon.com/Dixon-R08-02RG-Wi ... +regulator?
It wouldn't really be pushing it safety wise, and it seems as if it'd work
When you say "safe" pressure, do you mean safe "it won't blow up" or safe "I will use it for skirmishing shooting at other people"?
Safe as in it won't explode, I'm not shooting this at other people, so the only safety I have to worry about is my own

You can easily build a BBMG that can take 400 or even 800 psi safely without exploding, and believe me the power from such high pressures is amazing, this is with airsoft BBs:

I'm guessing that kind of system is using metal piping?
I was looking to use PVC pipe since it's cheap and I have plenty lying around, so at the moment I'm shooting for 100 psi just for safety.

Some stainless pipe I had lying around and some epoxy thrown in for good measure
Given the way BBMGs work, you could probably use 275 psi directly in an appropriately rated PVC tee, just maybe add a pop-off valve for safety.
Remember that in regular operation, you never get high pressures in the BB chamber. I had made a vortex BBMG and even though I was feeding 100 psi, the pressure in the chamber never exceeded 20 psi. The worst case scenario is a BB getting stuck in the barrel though, so your chamber should always be able to take the full pressure your chamber is feeding.
