I have my sodastream adapter to type30 thread.
A mini regulator for C02 with 1/4 bsp outlet to match the type30 adapter .
A small ball valve in 1/4 bsp.
If I put the (soda stream > reg @ 150 psi > ball valve > slide valve) Will this work? Will it be safe?
:bounce:
Thank you to all for your help (and criticism)

I think it all depends on your regulator, what is the make and model? Not all regulators are created equal, especially on a budget

These are the smallest regs that I could find downunder because they have to have the type 30 connector.

Something I just thought of (which I should have thought about before!!!!) can I use a sodastream bottle in a horizontal position?
Also can I use one of these ball valves?

When considering this option please do expect good quality as it is a little ripper and so reliable, I also think it looks great. Never had one returned. This product will do a great job and do you really need any more than this?
It sounds like this regulator shows up for the job wearing a cork hat and clutching a pint of Victoria Bitter
If the seller is true to his word it should be ok, though it does not look like it would have enough flow to allow rapid fire.

thanks jsr but I am happy with single shot bolt action. Just a project for the back yard, not intending to hold up the Fosters Brewery.

I'm not sure if they have anti-syphon tubes since they are intended for vertical use...
You should have a look at this project by one of your fellow Aussies:

just watched an U.S. video on youtube about filling sodastream bottle with dry ice.
There is no tube to go inside the bottle fitted on the nozzle.
any suggestions?

My suggestion is don't post about dry ice in bottles because you will get banned from Spudfiles for doing it. Thanks and have a great day! :bigsmurf:

I'm looking to make a gun with a sodastream canister too. Any ideas on refilling?

Hi Datsun I refill up to 700 psi from my fridge compressor, apart from that Woolworths do exchange bottles of C02 but make sure you use the bottle in a vertical position or at a 33 degree angle from the horizontal so you only get Co2 gas and not liquid. (not required if you use hpa)

I want to use normal air instead of co2, but I heard that the soda stream valve in the canister is one way? How would I go about refilling it and attaching it to a Qev or slide valve? Is there a replacement valve that will fit with standard gun plumbing? The soda stream canister thread is 5/8 18 UNF. Sorry to ask probably dumb questions. Thanks for you time.

Then read the first post. You can get a regulator from uxcell.com with the type 30 thread also called din 477
