Here is my attempt at a mini ,its made from x2 brass (5/8") caps,a brass (5/8") socket and has an aluminium internal (insted of 5/8" copper i used aluminium).
The barrel is solid brass tubing 2.2mm bore, and is piloted by a shrader.

The piston is made from brass tubing and is explaned in the diagram.

Any comments?

i like the design, the way the piston slides over the pilot. i think a mini will be my next build since my last two have been fairly large.

And what on earth is jsr's failure cannon, maybe a link will clear things up..

as for performance now that the glue has dryed, is very impressive and alot louder than i thort it would be,but considering i shoot it at about 350-400psi that comes to be expected.

no real power test have been done ,altho i shot at a can about 3m away and it penetrated one side,if it was fixed im sure it would of exited the other side :?

Well considering jsr had the balls to admit to a failure i guess ill share my own failure, basically stupidity rather than pushing the limits of the device.

i wanted to basically create a similar device that i posted,a mini coaxial but a servicable one,its made from an oxygen flashback arrestor, and the piston WAS a .22cal shell casing, i removed the projectile from the casing , emptyed the residual gun powder and attached a sealing face to the back of the shell, i had been building the device all day and was quiet proud of my achievments ,so i thort id celebrate with a couple of beers and a few billies, at this point in time i was quiet out of it, so with the courage juice flowing,i decided to go and finish my product, all i needed to do was weld the shrader to the fitting that screwed into the back of the flash back arrestor and it was done, aleast i thort i would of been done,

once i fired up my mapp gas torch and began to weld the shrader in the fitting within seconds the residual gun powder that had stuck to the internal walls of the casing blew up inside the arrestor, deforming the bullet casing and melting my sealing face i attached to it. FUKKKKKKEN IDIOT :x if only i had removed the piston :(

so this resulted in me making the one posted in revenge for my failure, but i suppose its not completly screwed i just need to get another shrader and piston for it ,but maybe another day :D

This hobby is about research and development, assessing failure is probably more important than celebrating success, so it's always good to share :)

In your case, glad you didn't get hurt :)

We've all had embarrassing incidents after a few too many. Like me pissed off my nutter trying to shoot a beer can, missing the can and having the bearing ricocheting into my foot. Another beer killed the pain though :D
