cool pics
if you can improve the darts with the help of THUNDERLORD you might have found out a very good ammo
and has anyone an idea what I can use as the thing that makes the tight fit for my marble barrel? 16mm ID
and can you try dropping the dart from 1.5m hight with the point upwards and post if it hit the ground with the point? thanks already

sniper hero i just used either cardboard or wood to make a bigger front end of the dart but in the future i will try to make a seperating front end like thunder said. I wont be able to do it anytime soon cause i got a rugby tour but i will probably make it before may
ok well i have tried to figure out ways to make a sabot but i think they actually over complicate the ammo.i made a prototype out of wood and got a couple of shots before i lost the wooden seperator pieces.
if anyone has any ideas on how to make an easy sabot that would be great but at the moment i think a one piece dart works fine.

The plastic part of the dart is a smaller diameter (tapered) at the back of the metal (brass part) of the tip.Vman wrote:ok well i have tried to figure out ways to make a sabot but i think they actually over complicate the ammo.i made a prototype out of wood and got a couple of shots before i lost the wooden seperator pieces.

So you should be able to drill/ cut a hole in the cork to fit that part and then slice the cork in half length wise, Then fit the two halfs on so they fit snuggly in the barrel but seperate after firing.
The fact that the dart is tapered should make the cork stay in place while it's in the barrel.
Other than that there are other methods similar to put the sabot at the front.
But the way it is in your pictures looks like it will prevent over-penetration if you're shooting say a dart board at lower pressure. 8)

I think you did a great job on the photos/damage pics and it's a cool concept to shoot that type dart.
I was just giving you my honest opinion which is what I believe feedback on stuff is all about.

Not that I'm power hungry for credit or anything but I suggested those in one of my first posts Here.nivekatoz wrote:I had very good luck with these darts..There cheap and easy to make. Just wire nuts and nails, maybe some epoxy. and you dont really need a sobot. Just cut the wire nut to fit the barrel.
Anyway, I'm looking at these old post thinking geez my replies were erratic when I was still drinking a lot. 8)
