Helium+Paintballs?

I was wondering, would it be possible to use a syringe, take some paint out of a paintball, then inject helium? You would have tons better range but it might not work. Or you could inject so much helium that it just kinda floats there, it doesn't go down or up. The PB would just keep going till it hit someething. I have to try this with some rubberyish PBs.

Paintballs are brittle and if you take out the paint and inject somethin in their will be a hole, also they need something inside to keep them from breaking when shooting, I don't think helium would work right... I've actually filled paintballs with gas and threw them in a fire, I didn't shoot them because my fancy paintball guns barrels\chamber would get messed up if one broke, I might actually try shooting it with my new CPVC paintball gun...

I don't reccomend shooting gas filled balled (not gas as in air, but gasoline)
If you hurt yourself it's your fault, the rules disaprove of shooting flammable stuff, so if your going to talk about it, don't do it here...

... taking the paint out would get rid of all the mass of the paintball... basically wind would knock it all over and it would go a mile from your target for one, second it would have no mass to propel it further then something like a paper towel...

?????? there is no possible way that injecting that little helium will make a significant difference in the way it flies. except the fact that it wont go far at all because it has no mass, as mihlrad said.

I took the paint out of a cheap paintball and filled it with sharpie ink

but wasnt about to fire it outta my gun...just thew it against a tree, sharpie is still there to this day...was ~1 year ago ish. i put a dab of superglue over the hole. I think i used a 16 or 18 gauge needle, worked fine. Could do some damage with a hopper full of sharpie balls

It wouldn't hit a lot harder than a onrmal paintball, it would just leave a stain.

This is going to be heavy on the estimation, but hang with me...
The volume of a paintball is about 3 cubic centimeters.
Thus, you get approx. 3/1000ths of 1.4g of lift, or about 4.5 miligrams.

Wow, a whole 4.5 miligrams. An empty paintball casing is probably a hundred miligrams or so...

why do you people have needles? i just use a baby feeding thing, thats a syringe without a needle,and i poke a hole with a needle speretly

well I work at a assisted living facility, I can just ask a RN and they will be like yeah, top drawer, on the right....

Im pretty sure you can buy a syringe kit at any drug store.

What drug store? your neighbors or Rite Aid?

I use a battery testers point to poke the hole and then a basketball needle to suck out the paint (caution: paint taste like total shit)

well i thought they wouldnt sell syringes to people, because they would use them to shoot up, and no one wants that........

Edit: they do sell needles to stick yourself with if you are a diabetic
