I emailed the show to see if there were any plans or calculations available for someone to study. I have yet to receive anything from them and I don't think I ever will. Judging from the two liter prototype they first built it seems to be a combustion chamber launcher with a cone for a barrel. I didn’t believe it at first but delayed my next launcher while I look into this.

I'm only surprised at other peoples surprise

When I was editing the wikipedia spudgun article a long while back, I added a practical uses section.

Compare what was in that clip to the first link under Industry.

Been around for hundreds of years, they probably nicked it off some vineyard for the program.

Though come to think of it, perhaps not all the bits they should have. Vineyards have automatic ones not some bloke timing the gas charge manually.
