pump for go cart mounted pneumatic
i just had this idea to turn a regular bike pump into an air pump that takes no manual labor to pump for a go cart mounted gun. you just cut the handle part off of the bike pump and attach it to the wheel. then you attach the the main body of the bike pump to the frame of the go cart on some sort of a hinge to allow it to move up and down with the bar attached to the wheel. there are many adjustments that would need to be made but you get the general idea.

Wow...you've just re-invented the compressor...in a bad way

that seems like it would work pretty well, but im thinking that the pump would have to be VERY heavy duty for it to not simply snap mid-pump (because obviously the more you pump it, the harder it gets, and eventually the plunger might just snap)
unless you put a saftey pop-off valve (i think thats what its called) on the pump itself
give it a go! let us know how it works!

reminds me of a steam engine, it might work at low speeds but i wouldnt trust it at high speeds. it would probibaly snap at high speeds

How about you run a chain directly from the engine to a larger wheel with this pump attached. This way you can easily build a sturdy frame and not affect the wheels of the kart and it would not spin as fast as the wheels.
In my opinion this is kinda dumb. there are better methods of portable compression.

Amen to that gort!In my opinion this is kinda dumb. there are better methods of portable compression.
I think you should scrap the whole "bike pump" idea and just chain drive an air compressor off the engine. Better yet you could put the compressor chain before the clutch on the cart engine so it would run even if your not moving.

You could also build a 50 foot windmill to power a friction heat rub-a stick-furnace, wich could power a steamengine wich could in turn drive your ingenius device, strap the whole thing to your back, go really freaking fast and yell:
"Look at me, look at me!!!"
Or you could buy a CO2 tank and regulator...PFF
But that might be too much trouble....

Some guy in NZ built a engine into a couch and it could go up to 35kph ,it was pretty sweet 8) and he sold it for like $4000NZD. They had a video of it on the news and hes holding a beer driving in a couch down a main road and all these people are looking at him weird and tooting.
That's not very fast at all. There are some that exist in the US and England that easily match traffic speeds and capabilities.
But yes, those "couch cars" in general are all flippin sweet. I still haven't made mine which pisses me off...

Couch cars, thats one hell of a wayto be a couch potatoe, i have never seen one but i was part of the making of the worlds biggest skateboard and i wanted to attach a motor but if so guiness would take it off the book it was a good idea though.
LOL, Why not just:
1.) Remove the motor from your compressor and mount it on your go-kart.
2.) Run copper compression fittings from the motor to your gun.
3.) Mount an inline check valve (80 - 125?) so that you don't blow your cylinder but always have enough pressure to fire...
4.) Mount an inline pressure line to a gauge on your steering column...
