"Really nice" and "really expensive" are a subjective things. Because you also qualify as "anyone"......show me.
I agree here. I understand from a design standpoint what you might be saying. One of the greatest challenges in designing something is making is practical and cost effective, if those things are important. But I agree with Velocity. No, not anyone can design a really nice cannon, period. Not anyone can manage to assemble a really nice cannon out of off the shelf parts either, let alone design a custom one and actually have it work, or be able to communicate your intentions to a shop floor.

I took the survey and found it a bit...silly.
I have made about 40 different designs so none of the questions can be answered clearly by me.
You also seem to think a spudgun needs fuel....???

And you don't need money to make a decent cannon or launcher.

Cost: 10 euro for the brass roundbar needed for the valve.
The rest is scrap.
It's not finished by far but I intend to only use free materials.
It uses AIR as it's one and only powersource and with it's onboard pump and multishot capacity it's just a matter of running out of ammo or sandwiches...

Better yet:

Made entirely out of old parts, gifts, scrap I found or scavenged.Total cost: ZERO!
Oops...also a multishot.

The survey is kinda insulting my intelligence...
Asif multishot capacity is something you need a lot of money for...

You need to read up on this site ....

If your just looking for potato cannon designs.. i made a full automatic air gun based off a larger potato cannon design.

And i am planing on making the same thing - only larger and still full auto.

I took the survey, and to be honest, I don't think the questions or answers really applied to most everyone here. It seemed to have the vibe that it was Planning to sell me something.
