Semi Automatic Golf Ball Gun.
I'm trying to figure out a way for a semi automatic combustion cannon. I have already built my first combustion cannon (2 in chamber, 3/4 in barrel, Electronic gas grill ignition) but I want another project to work on. I was thinking about having a moving barrel with a hole in it that the golf ball could be loaded into. When it is loaded the barrel moves forward from a spring and seals with o rings. When fired the recoil would push the barrel back, load another golf ball, and spring forward again. The fuel (Propane) would be on a valve that when the barrel is back it fills the c chamber and when the barrel is all the way forward it stops filling. pulling the trigger would cause a spark in the c chamber using a stun gun as a power source and have screws in the c chamber as electrodes. Would this work? Has this been done before?
You'll need to further refine your recoil process (maybe a drawing?), can't really see how the barrel is recoiling separate from the gun.
Another problem you're gonna run into is exhaust saturation. You need something to refresh the air inside the chamber after each shot, or the mix wouldn't ignite.

I'd Put a Case fan in the chamber with a toggle for exhaust fumes, As for the recoil process I'm working on a drawing and will post when finished. The barrel will move kinda like the AN-94 or M82A1. It would have a free floating barrel that when fired moves back, chambers another round, and springs push it forward again. In that process it would re gas the chamber from a valve system that measures the gas. Basically a bolt action without a bolt catch/lock but springs to pop it back. And a spring fed mag full of golf balls that fed in to the breech loading port when the bolt is open after firing.

If you draw it out, you will see that most of the recoil forces are actually originating on the surface you would see if you looked down the barrel. From there, they are transferred to the rest of the launcher. This is the bolt on conventional firearms, which is the part that actually moves. On handguns, the bolt is attached to the slide, and the barrel and frame are relatively stationary.
You could manage the loading of the projectile and the injection of fuel with a bolt type mechanism, but that still leaves purging the chamber with fresh air. In all repeating combustion that I know of, this is achieved by forcing new air in, with a manually actuated plunger (TITS (sfw), or venturi that injects air and propane at the same time (some French gun)

Alright, I'll just stick with a breechloading golf ball cannon. Still gonna have a fan and a direct propane injector. What I can do is post some pictures of my POS cannon. Hairspray gummed it up so bad it barley worked untill i put an electronic ignition in it.
