Piston valves a new way!

What if instead of having the piston behind the barrel put it over the barrel and seal it inside and out. I believe that it would make breach loading with this type of cannon easier.

Let’s see if I understand and at the same time explain to those of us who don’t;
Basically it’s like your normal piston valve with a two inch chamber with a inch and a quarter end cap as the piston, but instead of having the rubber glued to the “face” of the end cap, it’s on the inside.
Am I correct?
By the why, thrasmussen, I’d like to thank you. Remember you post for cased ammo? Well it gave me the inspiration to design my automatic hybrid cannon, thanks.

I believe this idea has been proposed by myself and a fea others, this design helps because it eliminates pilot volume.

Thanks! And as far as a drawing goes I only have a rough one at the moment but I'll work on a better one soon I'm sure.

Works on the same principle as an exhaust cannon where you have a fore and aft chamber the aft being exhausted thereby forcing a piston rearwards and releasing pressure from the forward chamber.
The only real difference from this and a normal Q.E.C. Is that the piston fits over the barrel instead of behind it.
Note: The chamber could have a tee on it to allow for another chamber next to it for more volume in the forward chamber. It was designed this way because it had to fit the limitations of a bazooka design.

Very similar to a slid valve i like the idea - i think it would work but seems to complicated to gain anymore benfits that how a coaxil is built already?

I like it because it can be breach loaded in an easy fashion.
