rapid fire "shell" idea.
This is my idea for a gun that uses pre-loaded shells.
i know its a crappy picture, all i have is paint...
The way it works is you have a standard sch80 barrel that has some sdr 21 sleeved in it with about the last 4'' cut off. So if you have 30 inches of sch80, then you only have 26 inches of sdr 21 sleeved in it. the last bit of sch80 is all by its self with out sdr 21 in it.
you load the ammo into a 4'' section of sdr 21 and place it in the last bit of sch80.
along the last 4 inches of the sch80 pipe, there is about 1/4-1/2 '' cut out of it as a groove a that is about 2'' long. this is because there is a rod or lever that goes in the shell to help pull it out.
does this make scence? do you think it would work?

It's not that hard to make decent diagrams with paintbrush - for starters, you can use the text tool for annotations instead of writing them freehand.

You need some more info on how it actually works. Is it really rapid fire? Is it a breech loader?
its a manual loader. yes, its a breach loader.
it may not be "rapid fire", but it is definatly faster than normal loading.
look at the Copper Head Prime, by hotwired.
you know how the barrel slides foward? it works just like that, but you put this shell in rather than sliceing a potato. it would work fairly fast if you had a compression fitting. it would need to be moddified slightly, but it would work very well, on paper.
here is the loading proccess.
unscrew compression fitting.
slide barrel foward
pull out old shell
put a new one in
slide the barrel back and screw it back on.
The compression fitting would need a slot cut in it just like the barrel.

If from what I see, the idea is the one demonstrated by the BECC
If this is the case then yes, the idea will work. In fact it's demonstrated in the cannon.

How are they connected? Is it just going to slide into a coupling, or am I missing something?

apparently a he said a union, but how do you have that handle stick out from within the union
I use power point since I know it front to back then group stuff together and copy it to paint for saving as a Jpeg
but let me help you I made Deus Ex Machina
apparently you want to insert the entire cartridge into the 2" receiver, you got to have some female part of a brushing in there to aline the cartridges cause 1.5" in 2" is a very loose seal
edit: wait I see if the 1.5 sch cartridge will fit nice and snug in 2" sch 80
I don't know I think so sdr21 1.5 is used on golf ball barrels and is sleeved in 2" sch80 I believe sdr21 and sch40 have the same ID so I think so
are you planing on a screw on lock or bolt action lock, but action is much faster
