A lot of aluminum pipe!
I just got a truck load of aluminum pipe. It's 30" long and has an i.d. of 2.13". I want to make an inline combustion gun but I'm not sure how to put the electrodes into the gun because it's aluminum. Does anybody know anything about aluminum combustions. Suggestions are welcome.

but yeah if you dont use the epoxy method sleeve a pvc coupling over the pipe an drill large holes in the aluminum then smaller holes in the coupler, then put the leads in that and then you could make the spark jump to the aluminum chamber.

That was the funniest thing I heard all day!
I just got done moving 400ft of 40mm aluminum tube in a truck for shells and barrels to be cut from and now I just realized that I will have a truckload of 15", 18", and 600 6" shells. Hey, I could lay those shells five across with that 30" truck bed!

You could also have one wire inserted into the chamber, and then have the other wire attach directly to the chamber wall. The spark will jump from the wire to the chamber wall. I know some people have done this method before on hybrids and such. Does anyone know whether such a method is safe? Can you actually fire the gun while doing this? I think laser pointer pens have a similar method for completing the circuit.
just take some wire with really thick insulation and drill hols and stick it in.

Or, if you're crazy about the endurance of your spark gap, you can use this method.
Go to home depot, get a 1/4"-20 tap and drill set, two 1/4"-20 x 1" NYLON machine screws, (they will be a clearish plastic), a #6-32 tap and drill set, some #6-32 brass threaded rod, and a little box of both 1/4"-20 hex nuts and #6-32 hex nuts.
Tap two holes in your chamber on opposite sides to 1/4"-20. Then, drill through the center of the nylon machine screws to the tap drill size for #6-32. Tap the screws to #6-32 and then screw them into the chamber. You may have to shave the screws a little, but you want about a 1/2" to 1" gap between the nylon screw heads. Tighten some hex-nuts on the inside of the chamber on the screws to fasten them in place. Then, thread two lengths of threaded rod, (#6-32), through the screws until they meet about 1/8" apart inside the chamber. Fasten the #6-32 nuts on the inside over the rod against the machine screws and on the outside over the rod against the nylon screw head. Add another nut to each of the outside electrodes to sandwich your hoop connectors or simply stripped wire from the ignitor to the brass threaded rod.

use a sparkplug from a lawnmower or something

it complicated, but basicly the motor needs to turn over for the spark to works. the plug also needs to touch metal to work.
so overall its not worth taking from a lawn mower.

The gun can act as the ground and simply attach your other wire to the top of the plug.
Current project: Afghanistan deployment
Ignite the gas using a lance that screws into the rear of the gun, use all plastic in it's construction and pass an insulated wire through the guts of it.
Even better, get me the thread dimensions and i will make a special little lance just for you ... no joke.
