I found something out about our Australian pipe,i was in recee the other day and you can buy our class 18 pipe(highest rating pvc)and then you can buy pressure rated class 18 and the pressure rated class 18 has twice the pressure rating of the non pressure rated stuff but the cost is like 300%increase in price but for a safe pressure of 520psi compared to 260psi.
just to clarify...
All sch. 40 pipe is the same thickness... it is the depth that matters
The socket depth on DWV fittings are about half as deep as the socket depth on the PW fittings... same goes for other parts of DWV fittings as well. This means that poorly inserting two PW pieces together can be as bad or worse than properly inserting two DWV pieces together
In terms of the piping however, if it only says DWV (usually it will say "for drain waste and vent only"), it is unusable as well...because it does not say sch. 40

i wouldnt take my gun over 160 as my sprinkler valve is only 145psi.
ive found some pipe at home but im not sure if its pressure rated i searched google but it ddnt help too much can you guys tell me if it is or isnt rated.if it isnt rated do you think it could hold 100psi its quite thick.
some of the numbers on the pipe have been cut of but here goes:
Marley 04xx AS/NZS 1260 LIC 2365
edit:btw there is no such thing as sch40 in New Zealand or Australia. the numbers of a pipe i put above may of had DWV im not sure as i used the same pipe for my combustion spudgun as the chamber.
edit2:rna_duelers i take it your from australia, i just recently found out that "PN" on pvc pipes in New Zealand is another type of pressure rating it may be on australian pipe im not sure but say if your pipe has PN25 someone told me that means its pressure rated up to bar25 or 2500kpa which is 400-500 psi or something like that
i pulled those numbers outta my ass

Uh, DramaPrinceWm, could you please rephrase your question? With exception of spelling, syntax and lack of punctuation, it was perfect.
Boomer said it................(Do you mind if I fart?)
