You will find that blowguns are in fact illegal, it is also an offence to be in possesion of any dart>

Strangely enough, I failed to penetrate a quarter with a spike dart fired from my Fish Killer @ 80psi. Odd. I've done some crazy stuff with them, but this time there wasn't even a dent in the quarter. Maybe I missed?
why not shoot at point blanc like everybody else? I would use a sturdier dart than you average blowdart though.PVC Arsenal 17 wrote:Strangely enough, I failed to penetrate a quarter with a spike dart fired from my Fish Killer @ 80psi. Odd. I did! I actually taped the damn thing to the muzzle! Something must be up with my QEV or the gauge is not reading properly.

maybe the pressure built up in front of the dart and knocked the coin out of the way.PVC Arsenal 17 wrote:I did! I actually taped the damn thing to the muzzle! Something must be up with my QEV or the gauge is not reading properly.

Thats what I think, I say the best thing to do is either tape it too a 2x4 or clamp in a vice.homedepotpro wrote:maybe the pressure built up in front of the dart and knocked the coin out of the way.PVC Arsenal 17 wrote:I did! i put mine on an old fat candle. its soft so it doesn't deform the dart too muchfrankrede wrote:Thats what I think, I say the best thing to do is either tape it too a 2x4 or clamp in a vice.homedepotpro wrote:maybe the pressure built up in front of the dart and knocked the coin out of the way.PVC Arsenal 17 wrote:I did! I tried taping a coin to the end of my barrel and it blew it off when fired- before getting hit by the projectile.
I imagine that would be because of the air the projectile is pushing in front of it.
Edit- I managed to pierce a 5 cent coin wth my sprinkle rvalve pneumatic.
Sorry for the bad quality, I had to scan it.
Just missed Her Majesty (Go the Queen! :headbang:)
But i managed to pierce it with a screw and a massive amount of wadding.
Happy SPuddin'

Sweet, that's a great shot from a scanner
Cluck me rigid.
I just nailed a 5p coin to a 2cm thick plank. The only reason the nail didn't go clean though is that the head stuck at the coin...
I'll now try to scan this 1m x 20cm plank
Nice dent and eruption crown the other side of the coin but the scanner cant show it
Anyways, 240psi and a 2.5mm x 30mm nail with a 15mm wadding slug
Incidentally on impact the poly slug the nail was fixed into was blown off backwards despite the head being moulded into it.

I prefer Stephen Fry's "Well glaze my nipples and call me Rita!"Hotwired wrote:Cluck me rigid.

It occurs to me that copper and nickel coins don't put up much resistance. I had my cannon set to short burst as opposed to dumping the whole chamber but I still only heard a small "thunk" with the wadding slug spinning away...
Might try a stack of those pesky copper coated steel pennies. 5p's worth
