ITWOST, earlier morning here but I just had a brain fart...
I've got a mini fridge in my room that doesn't work for some reason, so i'm hoping it's not the compressor. If it isn't i'll gut it and take the compressor, it should work like any other one right?

well I was hoping that someone would like to do it... its difficult to express precisely and to describe even the simplest things when english isn't your first language... is there anything missing in my how-to?
I may write another one and take some pictures when I try to remove a compressor from my second fridge but currently I have no time to do it

Bugger, just took apart the minifridge.
It doesn't have a compressor. Instead it cools a heatsink or something and uses the insulation in the fridge to keep cold. I'm not quite sure, here's a few pictures:
Edit: The big silver block is the heatsink, with a small one on top, which I think does the cooling.

Yeah Blitz, unless your mini fridge is similar in size and form to mine, it could have a compressor. Ones that are slightly bigger probably have them, like these ones you find in Hotel rooms:

Well, next time I'm at a hotel, I'll be sure to "borrow" their minifridge's compressor
