Just got a 2" sprinkler valve today FOR FREE. It's all in good order, except it has no solenoid. No problem there, plug it with epoxy and I'm off.
At this stage I'm thinking beer can rifle (empty beer can, loaded with gravel and blue metal, filled with water and frozen) or something similar.
Is a ballvalve or blowgun good enough to pilot this though? I'm guessing it'd work, but I do have a 1" solenoid I could pilot it with.
Will keep you guys posted

I assume it would although when you have to jerk the ball valve down you lose some accuracy.

Use a 1/4" ball valve and twist with your thumb or finger I tried with a blow gun and it's a no go.But with a 1/4 ball valve worked a charm with mine.

Cool, I'll use a 1/4" or a 1/8".
While we were shopping I had a look and at the least I could complete this project for $20(including buying 2" pressure rated pipe). But I'd like to make it over/under, have camlocks, schrader and quick connect fill, pop off etc.
Thanks guys

Epoxy on my stainless steel pen gun is setting up.
My last one (aluminum) was bent in my pocket and the piston no longer actuated properly.

Well just about anyone can do that at point blank... What range are we talking here?

ITWOST: Took apart the top of a "Fix-a Flat" can.
(Foam tyre sealer/inflator in a spray paint looking can)...Seems not very useful spud component, although worth saving in junk pile.
I'd guess it could handle maybe 100psi (just the clear hose and plastic tip).
The threads that fit shraders look like pot-metal, die cast ,in black plastic casing.
And the valve is the same as a spray paint or aerosol can.
Noticed the valve on my banged up fire extinguisher would probably make a nice hammer valve, or maybe a longer lever could be attached for use similar to a pressure washer handle. (Not fond of the long lever pull myself though).
Been wondering if my clear 5 Gal. "crystal springs" water jug tank could handle combustion pressure(?)
I have 10' of 1" PVC sitting around.
And an idea to attach the barrel to a T with ball valve for venting/mixing, run the ignition wires with the barrel, and put JB weld and about 4 Hose clamps around the opening.
I would definately not hand fire it probably ever.
So not much fun for me except the clear chamber would look cool whether it ruptures or not. No time for a toy though...
Spring is officially here and I'll be working on my Motorcycle a lot mostly.
I may work on something quick that could double for home defense type stuff though. Never too safe! 8)

Hmm, so what ever happened to using the title "In the world of spuds today" as a way of distinguishing articles from talk? I'm thinking about posting what I've been up to but don't want to look like a fool by using that title. Can we reinstate it?
