Competition - Best Shot on Video - Results are in
Hmm, I think I have an ideas for my shot. I could shoot sky at 100psi since my camera gets a decent amount of bass on the mic and zooms ok. But I'm gonna lose the visual of the potato before it starts to fall and when it does fall, .....yeah..... Next is a 5th seasoning shaker full of (exploitive deleted) fired at ??? maybe an old (exploitive deleted) or no, i have an old (exploitive deleted) heheh.
Gotta keep things a secret if im gonna get a good vid 8Þ Oh and 5th seasoning shakers are perfect for a 2" sch 40 barrel and it wont scuff the inside (plastic sabot).

The clearest shot I've ever seen of a flying tattie was a fairly long white blur so unless this is going to be at comparatively low speed ~50m/s or so, theres not going to be anything to see if it's shot into the sky
No, he has a video camera that has a very fast exposure setting. It can get very good stills, and does enough fps that it can be played at low speeds without looking jerky, but no slow motion as you mean it.MrCrowley wrote:What about Pete who runs/ran UKSGC, doesn't he have hi-speed cameras?
Actually, that reminds me. He wanted to meet sometime to do some shots like that (we live about 15 miles apart) with me - with the power of HEAL, of course. I should really call him back about that... but then no-one else would be in with a chance... ;P
Does that thing kinda look like a big cat to you?
Heh. If you do that I could hook you up with my current idea for a snazzy shot and we could have a UKSGC entry

Anything that shows the shot is fair game, so yes stroboscopic images are fine.markfh11q wrote:Clide, what would the rules be on stroboscopic images?

Seriously Maxus, a high frame rate shot of HEAL firing a CO2 cartridge or something similar would not really leave the rest of us with a chance.
Our videos are pretty good, but they couldn't compete with any slowed down high frame rate videos. Especially mine, in all its 1 megapixel, WMM edited glory.

I think we can judge a nice shot from a launcher regardless of special effects and fancy editing.DYI wrote:Seriously Maxus, a high frame rate shot of HEAL firing a CO2 cartridge or something similar would not really leave the rest of us with a chance.

Noes!
The olympus fe-210 I've just found the video mode on doesn't record sound!
Waaaaaah.
I am NOT going to look forward to trailing audio wire with a mike on the end away from my pc...
