I discovered that 2L coke bottles will fit 110mm 10 bar PVC Pipe perfectly.

"In the world of spuds today" I blew a rather impressive hole in a tin can, it was empty at the time.
The .50cal 4grm projectile (pictured) was fired from the brass bruiser at a 4x mix. In other news i may just "bite the bullet" and purchase a long awaited piece of spudding equipment at the start of next month, can anyone guess what it may be? Anyway check out the damage

You inadvertently guessed what i'll be buying at the start of the month
As to your question, JSR digs up some good deals, i doubt that there would be cheaper alternatives.

AH but if you tell them that you wish to purchase said instrument to make your spudding SAFER they could not possibly have an argument, like "Dad, can i get a chrono?" Dad "No", "but the possibility of a ricochet at 500 fps is far worse than a ricochet at 300 fps- which i fear most of my cannons exceed"
See where i am going?

This isn't a spudgun, it's a scientific instrument with many uses I'm sure your parents would be happy that you've added a more empirical approach to your projectile research.

I can't wait to see the look on my old mans face when i pull out a chrono. He is ex-infantry and used to love blowing holes in stuff, maybe it will rekindle his interest.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote: I'm sure your parents would be happy that you've added a more empirical approach to your projectile research.
Edit: JSR, have you any idea as to how well these particular models work with smallish ammo (.177)?

In general, the bigger the projectile, the easier it is to get a reading, but it is capable of "seeing" 0.177" projectiles - the important thing is that the chrony is far enough from the muzzle to avoid the blast affecting it, and that the barrel is perfectly aligned with the two sensors, you'll soon get the hang of itNovacastrian wrote:Have you any idea as to how well these particular models work with smallish ammo (.177)?

Nothing beats raw data By the way, you're probably better off building some polycarbonate armour for the display, there's nothing more embarassing than having to admit you shot your chrony
