Where are you shooting? General rule of thumb is if you can shoot a shotgun, its legal to shoot your gun. They can fine you though for disturbing ordinance and disturbing the peace I do believe.

Not good advice. Check to see if it's illegal with your local laws. Another general rule is if you can't shoot pellet guns and such, you probally can't shoot a spudgun.
Plus they can charge you with a number of other things if spudguns aren't illegal and he decides to call the cops, but chances are they would just tell you to knock if off (unless you get sergent dick).

I would second that...although I have not had an official run in with the law - yet, I think I am getting close to it...Just do yourself the favor and call the local law - the worst they can say is it is illegal and you will know. I am told that in my area, it is perfectly legal to fire a handgun and shotgun provided I am firing into a man-made bunker of timbers and dirt - when I asked what constitutes a safe enough bunker, the deputy said it was the responding deputy's call...so, yet another law open to individual interpretation - so, if I can fire live ammo into wood and dirt, I hoping the spuds are no big deal - I, myself have to make a second call on this one...
Do the smart thing, and call...

just speaking from experiancs cops even when faced with proff and a letter from the sherrifs department on legality can still freak out and confiscate your guns and fine you alot especialy if the are acting on a complaint
im lucky I have dirt on all of my neibors and we have a agreement on no cops

Well I would first suggest a peacefull solution. Try to silence your gun check the old posts how to do that and then maybe call you neighboor over and show him how safe and quiet it is. If not and ) doubt he'll change his mind I guess the law is on your side anyway so he can't do anything about it.

My neighbors on both sides have spud guns( I made them) and the next house down works on firearms as a side job.
I live in the country ,about a mile and a half from town and I have had no c omplaints from the neighbors ,but if I did I would be careful and maybe even take the louder ones someplace else ,like maybe a friends house to shoot them. It pays to get along with your neighbors as much as you can. Some of
them might just think it's a firearm if they didn't know it was a spud gun.

If he beat you up he would be the one getting in trouble (assualt? seeing as it wasnt self defense). (get your story together before you post) Kinda silly how you tell everyone that you got beat up. (I wouldnt)

The best part is : " He beat US up....." LMAO! isnt there some unwritten rule that there is safety in numbers? and why would the guy thump ya if there was a witness?
All my neighbors all around me get a kick out of spudgun, they like to watch and they even take turns firing it. the 5 0 havent been called yet, but I should call them to see if its ok here.

i've had problems with my neighbours too but i think its just because they're old and crabby. they were trying to object to a pool being built two doors down because they though it would interrupt there vewing area!!!!!! i mean you cant even see the pool from there house!!!!!!! and i think they dont like me firing it because one of them had a friend that was playing around with one at a quarry and he died or something like that.

I live so far out in the country that I hear guns going off all the time. Besides no one will object to spud guns if I keep them on our 6 acres.
