I'm gonna make myself a High Pressure Pump and use poly pipe as the main cylinder for it. I'm pretty sure it can hold alot of pressure but does anyone know exactly? I'm aiming for 400psi with this homemade pump.
Cheers spudder's

I am really not sure. I have a length of 20mm poly that says PR 2420 on the side. I guessed that that meant a pressure rating of 2420 kpa (350 psi) which seemed about right for that pipe. Anyway, if it is as the cylender of the pump only a short section will be under high pressure, and a valve will separate this from the gun's chamber. So even if it DID burst it would be reletively low energy. It would even be at a low level, away from your face. I say go for it, just make sure you can modify the pump to accept some other type of pipe in case it does fail.
