I like combustion because push button and go boom and I haven't built a pneumatic
Well combustions are easier to use and make but pneumatcs are more powerfull and more complicated. Personally I like pneumatics better because I don't have a feeling that when I push the button everything will blow the h311 up.

this again......... think about it.. combustions generate what? 60 psi at the most, thats safe even if you use dwv. pnuematics use more than 100 psi sometimes more than 200 so the chances you are going to have shrapnel is much greater in a pnuematic
with that aside, i like pnuematics better because i love target shooting and they generally have better accuracy. dont go nuts on me all you combustion lovers, they are great too i just prefer pnuematic for shootin targets with pb and such!

You can only use 200 PSI if you can find a solenoid rated that high, most have a max of 125 PSI. Anyway, if you use pressure rated pipe (usually around 300 PSI, at least around here) the only things you have to worry about is overpressurizing the chamber (easily avoided by using a bicycle pump with a pressure gauge) and the fittings (easily avoided by properly solvent welding).pnuematics use more than 100 psi sometimes more than 200
And beebs, is that a double solenoid assembly on your avatar? I just noticed.

Pneumatics are more complicated, and that's probably why I like them. It takes a lot of thought to put an adequate design together (I'm not saying that designing a combustion doesn't, just not as much) I like that if it's designed well they can be more powerful
I agree with Shrimphead. My combustion cannon's pretty cool, but adding stuff to it, like my recently installed chamber fan, is a big hassle (at least for me). I also like the customibility (is that a word?) of them. With combustion guns, you have to use a stun gun or BBQ sparker or something, with pneumatics you can use a fully customizable "firing control module", and is best illustrated here near the bottom of the page.
And as mentioned by Shrimphead, it does help that they're more powerful by concept.

yeah it is its off of the spudtech site, and i have that setup on 1 of my cannons... really works good...... my point was that pnuematics are more apt to fail than combustions because of higher pressures, not that they always do.is that a double solenoid assembly on your avatar? I just noticed.
^^^^ and it is better if you use modified pnuematic actuation not the "module"
I wasn't talking about my spudgun blowing up I was talking about the propellant blowing up...beebs111 wrote:this again......... think about it.. combustions generate what? 60 psi at the most, thats safe even if you use dwv. pnuematics use more than 100 psi sometimes more than 200 so the chances you are going to have shrapnel is much greater in a pnuematic

i know the feeling,i have 1 of each, and i must say that i feel safer using my pneumatic than my combustion, even though it generates 3 times the pressureCronic wrote:Well combustions are easier to use and make but pneumatcs are more powerfull and more complicated. yeah i agree with julz on the point that my pneumatic takes about 3 minutes to preasurize where as my combustion takes about 7 seconds.... with that said i still like the phneumatic better because a potato shot 100 yards beats one shot only 65 yards any day of the week!
