in a Co2/air spudgun it releases the built pressure to launch the ammo, thats it in a nut shell

God F'ing S&&&! :shock:
How can you be... so ignorant? They are called pneumatics and they work on (nearly) compleatly different princables than combustions.

Look up "pneumatics" in the spudwiki.

he might have seen the valves that look like gun triggers

Edit: just read up on modding sprinkler valves and saw they are blow guns

Retarded people messing around with spud cannons are just asking for a disaster. I'm sure that's why experienced people like blb tend to "freak out" more often :)

Damien, have you ever had one fly apart at the barrel, or burst the cumbustion chamber? i've seen and been part of such explosions, they can be anything from kinda funny to deadly, i'm lucky i still have all my fingers, some of my friends don't and one is dead, no matter witch way you go with it just put safty first, a good tip for expermintation: start out with low power and work your way up, check out your cannon inbetween each shot for stress cracks and loose parts, it may save a finger or eye or better yet your LIFE!!

yes, i know all safety i have seen them go KA-BOOM
after every second shot check for stress cracks and loose parts r very rare if u use plumbers glue.

i put safety first all the time

smoke a joint dude, no reason to get pissy cause a newbie asked a question.

to answer your question damian, The triggers you typically see on pneumatic cannons are no more than a typical blow gun for an air compressor that is threaded into the top of a sprinkler valve. When the trigger is pressed it actuates the valve by releasing the pressure on the top of the diaphragm, allowing the valve to pass the air through the ports.

i suggest reading up on sprinkler valves if you dont understand how a diaphragm works on one.

Spudshot-SS, i've seen some of your other posts and you look like you have a fair bit of knowledge about the topic. If you were here as long as some of us member ( me, BLB, etc) you would understand why we get pissy. Half of these newbs don't even bother to look it up, they just expect the answers to be handed to them on a silver platter. What ever happened to good old researcH?

yeah i guess i agree on that one with ya seeing that the information is soooo soooo readily available to anyone who knows how to use a search engine. Upon looking at the site and the wiki its really full of info, lots of stuff from spudtech and latke's site.
didnt mean to really give boilingleadbath a shit head attitude or anything i mean seeing that damian posts a whole assload of 4 word posts i can see how one could get frustrated with that.

its ok to ask questions about stuff u dont know about, just dont ask 5 word questions that can easily be answered by 5 minutes of reading through the wiki, probably gets the moderators a little poopey to see the same dude making 10 new threads a day all about pretty basic questions

I gotta work on that a little to, i have asked a couple dumb questions that were easily found. It is quite fun to research by myself though because who knows what else I will learn along the way :D
