ive been experimenting with different types of muzzle brake
the goal is to reduce recoil and also produce an ear splitting roar
i tryed a coupler with holes drilled in it and then countersunk the holes that did not work
i also tryed another coupler with slot milled into it that gave it a cool flame at night but again that did not work

anyone have any experience fabricating muzzle brakes willing to offer suggestions?

Well in that case you are headed the wrong way. Your previous designs were flash suppressors not muzzle brakes. Take a look at large caliber weapons. Tank guns, artillery, and large caliber rifles. You'll probably have to amend designs due to the trend of using muzzle brakes to redirect noise and gases away from the user and target.

The simplest design you could use is the cone shape. That would cause a large boom or crack based on caliber.

Check out "Magna Port" for firearms.
It's Two slots cut on the top side of barrel and the Jet effect reduces muzzle climb. (Vents at top press muzzle downward)
I read somewhere that it increases the noise by up to 30%(sharper bang).

For more Boom or Pop, a suppressor can change the sound. Just look at a standard Megaphone.

No idea what it's going on.
So it's hard to say how to design it. But the concept is the same.

BTW the M-16 with its flash suppressor makes a nice POP!!
The AK (7.62x39) Is more bass BaDoom!
Also the rate full auto M-16 is much faster. It's easy to tell them apart.

The simples would be in the style of the AW-50 anti-material rifle, basically having a tee at the end of your barrel with a hole for the projectile to go through.

i used that brake on the .50... works like a charm and should not be hard to make

I tried putting a tee with a hole in it the way you describe on one of my launchers, and i believe that it is worth mentioning that if you have a somewhat loud launcher already, this will make the muzzle report a very loud whistle that will most definately require hearing protection

I tried it on my 13mm bore at 35 bar, that even hurt my ears with protection on

I have just simply put a cross at the end of the barrel, it is very similar to the brake in JSR's picture, except I didn't have to build it myself. I used it on this cannon.

I have 'played' with muzzle brakes in my few years as an armorer. Several things worth mentioning would be:
1)the increased 'roar' from a muzzle brake depends on where you are standing in relation to the brake.
2)muzzle brakes work best on smaller calibers.
3)muzzle brakes work best with high pressures.

2) and 3) translate to magnum rifles and not your average spudgun.

you can add a muffler to a Tee or cross and it reduces the sound level

so what is it that this is going on..... most of my pneumatics I would like to make louder!!

Spudguns are relatively low pressure devices, however they compensate for this by using larger surfaces - compare spudgun calibres to firearm calibres, for starters. Therefore there's no reason why muzzle brakes on spudguns cannot be effective, if made large enough.

It seems to me that marpat is more interested in increasing the noise more than anything. I'm surprised no one has mentioned a burst disk (which is why he bought the union?).

As far as muzzle breaks go, I've only used them for cosmetic purposes. I've not noticed a difference either way. But I'm sure it is very possible.
