Sketchup Model Library
Over the last year I have made a lot of CAD drawings for
Pneumatic Launchers.
I have imported several of them into Sketchup format.
Here is the link for Pneumatic Launcher Components:
http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/ ... revstart=0
Some of these drawings took over several days to make.
So I am hoping some of you can make use of these!
PM me if you have any particular components wanted.
This of course is limited by complexity of request and time frame of requirement.
Please post any suggestions or comments related to this library.
Thank you Dewey-1 for all your hard work and tireless effort contributing to the Spudfiles community. After seeing the interest in this and the filled request I hear by sticky the effort made by you for your contribution!

I like the breech loading barrel. Hmm, how about some one makes a shork wiki page about possible ways of planning a gun, mentions CAD and sketchup and includes this link, my be helpful some day...

it would be a good idea to create spudfiles approved collection of models for PVC, copper and iron... if you haven't noticed yet some manufacturers put models of their valves and fittings...
good job dewey, I am still learnign how to use sketchup not to mention more advanced programms but I find it really useful in designing

Thanks for the comments.
I just added a 5 pound fire extinguisher air chamber. ( about 185 cu in)
It currently has 1-1/2" fittings but I will be adding a 1" version.
Probably would have to create a posting on this to get some discussions generated.
I am quite aware of various 3D models out there. As a matter of fact I have had some of them for several years now.
McMaster has a lot of them available as well. I have used some of their parts already.
I am also curious if anybody has used them yet?

How do you propose a spudfiles approved collection?it would be a good idea to create spudfiles approved collection of models for PVC, copper and iron... if you haven't noticed yet some manufacturers put models of their valves and fittings...

What are the air pressure and air flow requirements?Looking for a 360 degree turning full tilt mount that air can pass through. Even a mechanical drawing would be a start.
Also how much load weight are you talking about on the mount?
jrrdw: I will do some pondering on that though.

50 lbs load weight, lets say 75lbs for extra protection. As for flow I use a schrader valve for filling at the moment, but could upgrade to a quick connect at any time. It's for The Basterd. I'll get some updated pics of the chassis and current mount within a week, so no big hurry. But I definitely need better then what I'm using now.
Out of curiosity how many people would be interested in a 3/4" QEV done in Sketchup?
Also how many of you have tried any of the models I created?
Other models I plan on doing are copper breech loading barrels.
Please post any ideas for diameters and lengths.

Bump for UPDATE.
Seeing as there was no response from my previous post, I went and
updated my library of components anyway.
For you QEV and copper fans here are some QEV with adapter options.

It's really nice of you that adapters can be deleted as some prefer threaded malleable iron fittings for convenience...
I wish I could contribute in some way but I am not that skilled yet... well I made a very basic QEV model but there is no comparison to these
is it possible to add models created by other users (for example valve manufaturers) to your library ? in order to make 'spudfiles' collection of models ??
keep it up... the idea to use google for designing spudguns is a good one... we only need to inform them about such possibility and let them spend some time playing with it

This is great! Dewey, you did some sweet work on those parts in your library. Really detailed and nice. I wanted to contribute some fittings I did so I made an account and was all ready, then discovered how much of a near impossibility it is to convert Solidworks to Sketchup.
If you have sketchup pro or have the capability to convert something into a skletchup file, I will send you the files. They can be added to a combustion cannon collection perhaps.
I can save as .sat , .stl , parasolid and other generic formats. Let me know if you want these to add to your library. Maybe you have a way of converting them.

Yes it is. All depends on the file format that they have available for download and if I can import or open the files. Then it is a matter of conversion to Sketchup and uploading those files.POLAND_SPUD wrote: is it possible to add models created by other users (for example valve manufaturers) to your library ? in order to make 'spudfiles' collection of models ??
