I regret to inform you that you-tuber hamsterboy13 has died february 6th.
His real name was Andre de Wever.
He replied to some of our video's including mine, and JSr's.

This came to my attention through the news in my country.
He did not just die.He made the headlines.

He was not just interested in homemade airguns, but unfortunately he was into experimenting with fireworks and homemade explosives.

His hometown was awakened by a huge explosion and after the police was sent to investigate, Andre aged 17, was found dead.

He had appearently died instantly in an explosion by a homemade device.

My thoughts are with his family and friends and my hopes are such an event will never occur again.
I know for a fact that the young generation of spudders, especially the Dutch, is interested in both spudguns and pyrotechnics.
Unfortunately, in my country, they go hand in hand.
The last device Andre had shown on youtube was a combination also.
I fear this is the device that got him killed.

If this applies to you, I hope you will learn from what happened to Andre and take responsability.
Don't mess with powder.
Not just because SF rules are against it.

I feel horrible about this whole incident and for the time being I will put all my vids on private,
I do not want to inspire anybody at the moment.

Terrible news.

This is why I direct all youtube queries to spudfiles, it's the only way to ensure responsible advice is given.

As tragic as it is, at least he didn't suffer and died doing something he obviously was very enthusiastic about.

Condolences to his family and loved ones.

Just to be clear, he would only have been given advice on spudgun related matters.
His other interests are outruled here.

He had commented on one of my videos once too. Sad to hear the hobby got the best of him.

Brian, is the mention of his interest in homemade cannons prominent in the news stories? Just wondering if it will have an effect on the laws of pneumatic cannons in your country.

That's what I meant, he would have been given the good advice of staying away from solid fuel :-/

Absolutely.
"
And so he can be seen in his last upload from last Sunday firing a projectile from a convenient sized cannon.
He also demonstrates shooting sessions with his homemade guns"

The article shows two pictures of him.
One firing an airrifle, the other one as he is lifted into an ambulance in what appears to be a casket.

Didn't understand a word of it but the sight of the guy in the EOD suit checking out what I presume to be his residence is really sad.

same here... sure it had nothing to do with pneumatics or spudguns in general but it doesn't mean they won't ban them anyway
