Tennis Ball Cannon Plans
I am a new user and would like to find some simple plans for a tennis ball launcher/cannon that I can build with my teenage kids. The launcher/cannon will be used in a midway-type game where the balls are shot at targets about 30 ft away. Launcher/cannon does not need to be high pressure or overly accurate. I have an air compressor that I can use. Can anyone help?

A quick Google will give you plenty of plans.
For tennis balls you need 2.5 inch PVC which can be hard to find sometimes, but can also be ordered.
I recommend a simple solenoid valve to act as a dump valve (there are millions of sources on this online).
Alternatively you could use a regular ball valve, but it won't give you near as good performance, and will be hard to use for target shooting.

- You could do something like this, but with the proper barrel size.

You can always cap a tube and teach your kids a lesson in stoichiometry

A tennis ball is a ball designed for the sport of tennis. Tennis balls are fluorescent yellow at major sporting events, but in recreational play can be virtually any color. Tennis balls are covered in a fibrous felt which modifies their aerodynamic properties, and each has a white curvilinear oval covering it.
