CO2 rocket

This is my plan for a CO2 rocket. I haven't figured out sizes of pipe, as it is just a concept drawing. Basically this whole assembly goes in the barrel of the gun. When you fire the gun, the bottom half (shown in smoke colored glass) will slide upwards, which will pierce the CO2 with the needle. What I hope would happen is that the spud gun will launch this whole assembly, but the CO2 should go higher and leave the launching device since it is being propelled. This idea seems to work on paper, but it is hard to tell how well it would actually work. The CO2 cartridge could also be fitted with a nose cone and wings for more stability in flight.

Parachute ammo

This is kind of crude, but I believe it is a way to get parachute ammo without using explosives to separate the parachute from the body. The assembly is made up of a top cap which very loosely fits inside of the bottom cap. The green parachute (I know it looks crappy) is folded up inside of the two and is attached by a string to the top half. The I-bolt is firmly attached to the bottom half and has a thin rope tied to it. The rope will tie to an anchor on the ground. When the rope reaches the end the top cap should fly off, and the winds should open up the parachute. The parachute would have to be a strong, yet lightweight material. This whole thing is a concept, so no pipe dimensions are given. As with the CO2 ammo, this seems as if it should work, but it is still untested.

i think 800 PSI of force would dislodge any powerlet that became snagged

yeah, thats what i was thinkin, but i doubt it would explode, i think spuds right, the co2 would blast through anything that got in its way and just keep going

I've placed those CO2 Powerlets on a nail and hit the top with a hammer before; they just shoot straight up carrying you hand with it until you let it go then it just fly up to the ceiling (I did it on the work bench in my garage) The only time I made one explode was by throwing it into a fire pit inside a soup can; sounded like an M-100 and shreaded the can up when it blew. The can was found 6 feet away from where I had placed it.

well, if you think 800 psi is enough to dislodge a powerlet, think agian, depending on how well its in there, it could very well blow up.

If any dirt were to get inside a gun barrel, it can blow up the barrel, and the gun with it.

I believe when the Government was first testing the M-16, a bad round lodged in the barrel and blew a hole with shrapnel two inches behind the shooter's hand.

The existance of the chamber is enough to ensure that it won't go boom. This is an example fireing sequence:
Valve opens.
Powerlett starts to vent, and get stuck.
Chamber pressure climbs a few psi.
Powwerlett is empty.

Now i had a friend who thought this was a good idea (This was a few years ago now)

He placed the catridge in a vice and hit the end with a hammer the neck cracked a proceded to accelerate in his direction - before he knew it, the thing had removed the central section of ligament connecting your two nostrells and lodged it half way down his throat.

Luckly he managed to get to hospital and they removed his block throat and re-built his nose

you know what he never did it again!!!!

I say that if you dont have more common sense than the average grapefruit, and try something as purely idiotic as that, you positively deserve what you get. you might as well stick your head in a blast furnace to see if its hot. some people couldnt hold a candle to a box of hairballs. I feel ZERO pity for people who bring such consequences upon themselves.
