during my physical science class friday my teacher is going to shoot his potato gun on the baseball field. we get to stand in center field and catch potatoes.

I would advise you not to do that! potato guns are very dangerous! NEVER STAND IN FRONT OF THE BARREL!!! i now leave it up to you to decid4e your own fate, but keep in mind my subtle warning...

yeah I know but he has been doing for like 10 years and no ones gotten hurt. his isn't that powerful he said it only shoots like 100 ft

If it really can only launch potatoes about 33m it'll be about as dangerous as a bowler/pitcher/whatever else you'd like to think of.
I just wouldn't want to catch soggy potatoes

Your teacher is an idiot. Shooting spuds so that the students can catch them... Idiotic.
But I will get to do a project on potato guns in school

Standing in front is a bad idea but your teacher sounds really cool for doing this, any teacher who will do something just out of the blue is great, its a lot better than sitting in class all day taking notes. My uncle teaches and he shoots his gun for his science class and they're all amazed how powerful it is. 8)

My theatre teacher is cooler.
She brings us to eat beavertails (oh its true, you are americans/australians.. so you dont know what it is)

I think he knows what he is doing, he must have a 2.5 barrel, and set to low psi, and aims it at an angle. For a baseball feild range thats not very strong
is the gun a pnuematic or combustion

my teacher lets me shoot tennis balls and have kids catch them... I don't even have to ask permission to bring a potato gun in\...my school is too laxed

does'nt sound that strong, whats the barrel size/caliber
oh well your lucky to have a cool phycis teacher, I hate last year teacher she got upset when I made an experiment at home that involved a baby candle without her permition, !!the candle was Surounded by water!!, the due date was aproching, and she neverhelped me plan an experiment.
this at least this year I got a cool chemisty teacher he sometimes blows stuff up
