*Silence*
I agree with JSR - the archives contained too much knowledge to be lost to the sands of time.

The Administrator has chosen to close
this forum with the following reason:
The SpudTech forums have been shut down.
If you would like to continue discussions about Spud Cannons then please visit
http://www.spudfiles.com
If you do not already have an account at SpudFiles, just register a new one it's very easy to do.
Once you are on SpudFiles you can repost any discussions you had going on SpudTech. SpudFiles and SpudTech have very similar rules, and many of the same members so moving to SpudFiles should not be that big of a change.
Sounds pretty permanent...
I wonder if that last vandalism hack had anything to do with it.

I think it's got more to do with Joel going to Iraq, shoot some bad guys for me!

I thought Joel didn't have much to do with the forum at all.
The Spudtech main area is still up and running.

IIRC Joel is the guy who was footing the bill for the Forum, he might have not been too active on the site but it was running out of his generosity.

I know he was paying the bills - it was part of the spudtech website, I'm saying that as I thought he had little to do with the actual running of the forum, I'm wondering why it would have been shut down because of his trip to Iraq.

Because he can't sell spudguns from Iraq - He doesn't want to shell out huge sums for a website that can't sell him any products.
As the forums were part of that website, they have to go too.

Hes still shelling out for the website (which is still up), its just the forum traffic thats been cut out.
Still, I'm not going to die from not knowing and it ain't my website to question the running of.

I also believe that SpudTech was a great forum, although it is obvious that the members made that forum. I also think that SpudFiles will net a large majority of the previous SpudTech members. So I would not consider it a loss of mass proportion.
Personally I would retrieve the stickies, finished launcher forum, and any threads of particular impact.
"A moment in silence for this well known forum."
WTF? By any means the end of the SpudTech forums was not choice, but how does such a event equate to a event that deserves a moment of silence? Call me crazy, but I consider the blatant, careless tossing of that proposal, insulting. Save it for a worthy event.
"This is very very bad.... we need to set up a candlelight vigil"
Dumb ass...
