That's really disappointing. However, we cannot cling to the past, but instead look to the future! The best we can do is give Joel a good farewell and look at the new possibilities.

That's a shame.

The new person will have the order form open once everything's sorted?

There is a chance (don't hold your breath) that I may turn the orderform back on depending on how fast I can get caught up and how fast the business sells. I'm still working on my backlog but I am also going back to work as an electrician.....and running spudtech on the side.

I hate to see it go but my family and my sanity must come first. There are lots of talented people out there....I'm sure the next owner will be able to keep the legacy going in a righteous manner.

Do you suppose you could hire someone to build the basic stuff (combustions, sprinlker valve pneumatics, ETC) and you would focus on the complicated stuff such as supah valves, bolt-action tennis ball guns, and the like?

That sucks you're selling, but, I can see why. It must be a lot of stress currently if you're willing to get rid of a 6 figure a year business.

Another thought:

Perhaps only accept a limited number of orders at one time?

Perhaps I can work on getting the roughly 300 backloged orders I have right now out the door.....as for the 6 figure income....I am a licensed electrician. With a little overtime...I can do that with my eyes closed as a field tech.

I foresee a couple costly issuses, moving from state to state,(will be high dollar), selling rifled barrels at a reduced price, (he's your friend not the new owners, no offence). If i read correctly you want to pass on some back orders??? They are paid for allready, you going to pass on the profits as well? What if the new owner wants to charge more for his/her services? Is that fair to the costumers waiting on back orders that you mite be passing on? Details, details. These are things that poped into my mind as soon as i started reading this. Joel, have you thought about these details?

lol he is offering a pretty hefty deal there. Offering to move so you can move into his house and all the equipment and stuff. But you have to be pretty qualified for that. I'm sure it would take a while getting used to making supah valves and rifling barrels all the time.

Suddenly sell? The man had a nervous breakdown from his workload before he closed the order form.
