It's funny when I look through all the threads and when I read them, it almost doesn't matter which thread it is, there's always someone bashing on a noob for asking questions that have already been answered, for example, "PVC or ABS, Which one?" and there's always someone saying use the damn search please...

Easy to answer, when you belittle someone it makes you feel good- especially if you are in a bad mood.
Then you cool down and realise that you have probably been a knob

I suggest to anyone that is thinking about making a derogatory post is to wait for someone else to do it, unless it is constructive.

No its not cause it makes us feel good. People who have been on spudfiles and spudtech for a long time are fed up with these same exact questions time and time again. It just gets too old.

Well then why did you post it? I'm very sure that most members who spend just a little bit of time on this site can see that members do fight.

Hell it's the internet, people fight over things from Youtube videos to their adultfriendfinder pages. It's just human nature, can't really do much about it.

I did suggest having a 'noob' section, where new members can ask what ever they want and you wont have members like us giving them crap for not searching. In turn that would kind of make the normal sections for the more 'elite' members.

You may get a few new members who are very experienced already but after a certain amount of posts or time, they will have access to the whole forum.

Yeah, the only ways to implement one effectivly would be to have some email sent to you when you register saying that you should only post in the noob section until you have got the hang of things, but if you already know what you are doing use the other sections.

And the section would be kind of un-moderated unless the post breaks the rules.

I always thought it may be helpful to have a FAQs portion on the front page of the website in hopes to deter some of the "noob" questions. It would be right in their face when they came to the site.

Another thing that occurred to me (sorry for the DP):

A mod (or someone else...whatever) starts a thread that gets the sticky. This thread will be for new comers to post questions. Then, this thread gets linked from the front page. This would make PCGuy's job a little easier. It would also, since it is a thread, to come up into the recent post so the new comer (I don't prefer the word, "noob") can get answers.

I don't mind answering (or linking to answers) questions that are constantly being asked and this new thread will give the new member a chance to search that particular thread to see if his / her question is already answered.

Who said that a simple "Use the search function next time" is such a bad thing?

Seriously, it's the freakin internet. If you take offense from strangers with bizzare names and pictures of kittens with AKs representing them, then you got some issues.
